Eat your heart out Eric - Its the JJ Cale Tribute Show

Hi all

With the sad demise of JJ Cale on the 26th July it seems only worthy to do a tribute show for the great man.  I was looking at a smattering of classic tunes throughout the hour long show, avoiding the obvious ones but as each tune I listened to sent that shiver down my back I ended up with 58 minutes worth so it is not going to be a 'smattering' of tunes but an all out JJ Cale feast of laid back rhythms and sun setting on the back porch strumming blues.  Also as its only a 58 minute show it was editing time and one had to go but I'm not letting on which one !

So for all you lovers of the 'Morris Round Up' I'm afraid your morrising needs will NOT be meet this week, and there'll be no 'What's In The Post' or 'Time for Tom' I'm afraid as 'Tom Waits for no man' and he waits not for the great and the good as he took our beloved JJ away from us.

So here's the JJ Cale Show track listing:

TRACK ................................ ALBUM, Track Number (Year)
Humdinger ............................ Travel Log 13 (1990)
Cajun Moon .......................... Okie 7 (1974)
Who's Talking ....................... Travel Log 11
End Of The Line ................... Travel Log 7
Lies ........................................ Really 1 (1973)
You Got Me On So Bad ........ Troubadour 12  (1974)
Riverboat Song ...................... Travel Log 14
Magnolia ................................ Naturally 5 (1972)
No Time ................................ Travel Log 3
Crazy Mama .......................... Naturally 7
Let Me Do It To You ............. Troubadour 10
Devil In Disguise ................... Grasshopper 2 (1982)
Super Blue ............................. Troubadour 9
Anyway The Wind Blows ..... Anyway The Wind Blows 11 (1997)
The Woman That Got Away . Troubadour, 8
Mama Don't Like ................... Shades 6 (1981) and 'Live' 9 (2001)
Another Song ......................... To Tulsa and Back 13 (2004)

As you can see I've skirted around the obvious tunes on Troubadour and Naturally and there is all of 5 tracks of Travel Log, but it is one of his best albums by far in my opinion.  I haven't included tunes from all of his albums but I have got 10 albums represented here.

Hope you enjoy it and here are the album covers including the back covers for the track listings :

The sad demise of JJ Cale

HI all

I heard about this a couple of days ago and got this from the internet: http://www.jjcale.com/

JJ Cale Has Passed Away
JJ Cale passed away at 8:00 pm on Friday July 26
at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA.
The legendary singer / songwriter had suffered a heart attack.
There are no immediate plans for services.
His history is well documented at JJCale.com, rosebudus.com/cale,
and in the documentary, To Tulsa And Back.
Donations are not needed but he was a great lover of animals so, if you like,
you can remember him with a donation to your favorite local animal shelter.
